Our trekking starts from a village that lies in a big plain of terraced paddy field.
Rice cultivation is the main source of livelihood of this valley.
By reaching the highest valley of Marsyangdi, we start moving behind the mountain range. A little precipitation in this area during the monsoon can be marked with the scattered vegetation and large aridity of soil.
The Manang region is rich in Buddhist culture. The villages are constructed in Tibetan style. A perfect architecture, which harmonises well with the landscape, where the villagers are built. The Annapurna range is too close. The highest point of trekking route is Thorong-La pass, which is situated in 5416m in altitude.
While returning from the trek, we use Kali Gandaki valley, the most ancient and fascinating route of transportation and communication, used in the past by the caravans to go to India from Tibet by passing through Mustang. Still today, we cas observe considerable number of colourful caravans in that region; mules loaded with salt and rice, merchant, porters are companion on our journey on this route, which is dominated by Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Mt. Nilgiri (7061m).
