Annapurna I (8091m), towers up at the centre of this magnificent amphitheatre, dominated by 11 main summits of Nepal.
The sanctuary offers the best spectacular view of these summits among the others in Himalaya.
Down the hill on the trekking route, it is to discover the rural life of the country as well as the different ethnical group of that region. In the magnificent village of Ghandruk, Gurungs are the indigenous ethnical group, living harmoniously with the natural surroundings.
It is also a place to discover the dense forest of Rhododendron and exotic orchids.
Up above, the narrow gorge formed by Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m) and Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m) marks the passage with sparse pastures and moraine altitude.
